Cambridge Fantastic was exhibiting during Cambridge Open Studios 2023.
Hi everyone, I’m so excited to share with you my experience of exhibiting at the Cambridge Open Studios 2023.
If you don’t know, this is an annual event where local artists open their studios to the public and showcase their amazing work. I’m one of them, and I’m proud to present my “Cambridge Fantastic” series of watercolours again for the public to enjoy.
These paintings are inspired by the beautiful architecture of Cambridge, which I love to explore and capture in different lights and seasons. I use vibrant colours and a whimsical style to create a sense of wonder and joy in each piece. Some of the landmarks you can see in my paintings are King’s College Chapel, the Round Church, very popular Flying Pig Pub and many more.
I’m exhibiting as part of a larger art group called Artist’s Marquee, which is located at Burwash Manor in Barton. It’s a lovely venue with a lot of space and variety of artworks to enjoy. You can find paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery and more. There’s something for everyone!
The first two weekends of the exhibition were a blast. I had so many visitors who were interested in my work and gave me positive feedback. I also sold quite a few greeting cards and prints, which made me very happy. I especially enjoyed chatting with people who shared their stories and memories of Cambridge with me. It was such a rewarding experience to connect with other art lovers.
One of the highlights of the exhibition was a special print of Ely Cathedral that I prepared for this occasion. It’s a stunning building that dominates the skyline of the city. I wanted to capture its grandeur and elegance in my painting. The print was very popular and I still have some prints and plenty greeting cards left if you want one!
There were two more prints I’ve never shown before. Narrow boat And Umbrella and King’s College Chapel. All of those prints have a common things. Barges also known as narrow boats, canal boats or long boats 🙂
