This watercolour painting showing Jesus College Gatehouse is an iconic 17thcentury building located in Cambridge, England. The Gatehouse is the main entrance to the college and serves as a symbol of the college‘s long history. It was designed by Christopher Wren in 1627, and it is a Grade I listed building. The Gatehouse is made of brick and stone, and is decorated with statues of the college‘s founder, Lady Margaret Beaufort, and the college‘s coat of arms. The Gatehouse is the first thing visitors see when they enter the college, and it is a reminder of the college‘s historical significance. The Gatehouse also serves as the entrance to the college‘s library and chapel, which are both open to the public.
